      • Updates for Maryland

      • Tuesday, June 16, 2015: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm ET

Location:  Carver Professional Development Center in AACPS, 2671 Carver Rd, Gambrills, MD 21054

Facilitators: MSDE, PARCC, and Local School Systems

Description:  The purpose of the Summer Math Work with PARCC planning meeting is to gather LEA Central Office staff to examine infusing PARCC [resources] as instructional tool[s] and using the test to inform instruction and think about aligned instruction in Maryland classrooms.  The planning meeting will be used to share ideas for leveraging the assessment literacy/diagnostics of PARCC to be coherent with local goals.  In addition, we will be planning the content for the Summer Math Workgroup with PARCC in July where LEA teams will be invited to attend a 3-day capacity building workshop to create a product and construct meaning together; research shows that by engaging in action the theoretical becomes tangible.  Therefore participants will create quality tasks that focus on bridging the gap between the framework and classroom practice.  The ultimate goal is to create tools and resources that provide scaffolding for the teacher and instructional leader in Maryland classrooms.

        Additional Dates to Save:

Summer Math Workgroup with PARCC (July 28-30, 2015)
