        • Council for Educator Effectiveness Update (Judy Walker) - "Here is an update from the Educator Effectiveness Council: we are currently defining the effective and highly effective teacher.  If I get some notes back from last week's meeting in time, I will send them to you. We are bringing our subgroups together to develop common language on these definitions. There is agreement with Charlotte Danielson's domains and indicators as the basis for an effective teacher. There seems to be agreement that one of the differences between effective and highly effective is the degree of collaboration and problem solving that a teacher participates in. One example was whether the classroom teacher collaborates with staff outside their immediate team, such as [with] a math or reading specialist. Another difference between effective and highly effective would be the leadership roles and professional development that a teacher becomes involved."
        • PARCC Updates
        • March 21, 2011 Update - MSDE is stating that the CCSC will include the framework, units, lessons, and formative assessment [items?]. Asst. superintendents are being told to move slowly with anything being developed locally so that it is not out of alignment with MSDE CCSC resources.
